New pilot partnership with San Jose Fire Department

San Jose Fire Department (SJFD) is the newest municipal fire department to sign a pilot partnership agreement with Squishy Robotics. This department, which serves the third largest city in California, protects approximately 1.2 million residents within the San Jose city limits as well as in additional unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County.

“We are very excited to have the San Jose team as a pilot partner,” said Squishy Robotics COO Deniz Dogruer. “With close to 700 firefighters and 33 fire stations, SJFD is our largest pilot partner to date and the department’s Hazardous Materials (HazMat) team is certified as a Type 1 resource, the highest rating for HazMat capability.”

SJFD will receive several Squishy Robotics throwable/drone-droppable robots outfitted with our 4-GasPLUS sensor payload—this payload is equipped with LEL, O2, CO, H2S sensors, six cameras, and GPS. The 12-month contract with SJFD will enable the department to extend the partnership and to purchase additional robots at a discount.
