Military officers from 19 different countries toured Berkeley SkyDeck in late February as part of a West Coast visit to technology companies and government agencies. The 25 military officers (all with ranks of captain or colonel) were attending the National Defense University (NDU) in Washington, D.C.
Funded by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), the NDU’s International Fellows Program brings military and civilian leaders from over 100 allied countries to the study at the University alongside U.S. military officers. Most international students are enrolled in a one-year master’s program or a shorter certificate program. The NDU was established in 1976 and began educating international students in 1985.
